Neoregelia caroliniae 'Variegata' - Bromeliads

Originally from the rainforests of eastern Brazil. These plants have been in cultivation for such a long time that possibly the original species has got lost by the thousands of breed cultivars. Without exception, all the plants from this species provide a long lasting splash of vivid color for shady or partially shades spots. The attractive shiny green leaves develop color tinges in strong light, with the color relating to the final center color. Dependent to the variety, at flowering, the center turns brilliant red, cerise, pink or lavender. This type has thick stripes of white down the side of each leaf.
